Break Down The Walls

Okay so anyone who reads this probably knows that I was extremely lucky enough to have recently picked up a copy of Youth of Today – Break Down The Walls red vinyl on Wishingwell records. This record has been on the top of my record want list ever since I started buying records, but I never ever thought I would actually own a copy.

Everything about this record has already been said before, it's an absolute classic. I mean Youth of Today on Wishingwell records, what more needs to be said!
This copy is as mint as they come. The vinyl looks almost untouched and plays perfectly, no pops or skips, sounds great.

The cover is perfect, still in shrink-wrap. Even the insert is in perfect condition.

My copy also came with a Wishingwell catalogue, nothing super special, but I love it when records come with little extras.

And here are a couple Wishingwell ‘family’ photos.

Bonds of Friendship.

Here we have Insted – Bonds of Friendship LP, recently I have been on a bit of Wishingwell records kick however I don’t think this LP gets the respect it deserves, people seem to write this record off as a bit of a joke. Well the joke’s on them coz this is a killer record.

Okay so first up here is a really nice looking copy on red. Normally I don’t like translucent LPs as much as solid colours. But this one is just so clean with really simple labels, just classy. According to Flex! there are 500 of these.

Next up is the tour press on white, again according to FLEX! There are 200 of these. So as you can see this one has no labels, also the corner of the cover is cut. So these were made for their US tour. Not sure what the story is with them not having label, and the cover of the corner clipped, could be they were in a rush to get them ready for the tour, or could be something completely different. Whatever the story they look pretty kick ass.

Now here we have the LP on black. Until I read Kyle's write up on this record I never realized the differences with the labels.

Since reading this I have been searching for a copy with the black labels, they do come up pretty regularly, however every single one I have seen for sale (probably around 20 or so) none of them seem to come with the insert. My theory behind this is the copies with the black labels are the first press, as they have the same labels as the copies on Red. Possibly they didn’t have the inserts ready??

Anyways whatever the actual reason is my copy came with a photocopy of the regular insert, 2 sided copy instead of the regular fold out version.

Never Enough Brotherhood!

Ok so it has been a while between posts, unfortunately I just haven’t had a lot of free time recently, but I have been getting some sweet records, which I hopefully will be posting, so keep an eye out!

I am always looking for Brotherhood records for my collection. So I figured the best record to start with will be yet another Brotherhood record!

So here is another version of Brotherhood - No Tolerance For Ignorance with the Tattoo cover 7” however until recently I had no idea this version existed! This is like my other copy, in that the text is screened on the cover in blue. (There are other versions that have the text screened on a separate acetate sleeves in either blue, red or yellow which is still need). However unlike my other copy this one is on Blue vinyl. Now at first you might think that someone could have just switched the red with a blue, which could be the case. However all the copies I have seen with red vinyl and text screened in blue on the cover all did not have an insert.

This copy has a different insert; this seems to be the same insert that comes with the copies with an acetate sleeve. It's red and much smaller than the regular insert.

One thing about the tattoo covers is that they are larger than a normal 7” cover, which means that in normal storage they can be damaged easily, which unfortunately is the case with this cover.

Another cool bonus I picked up as part of my trade for the Closet Edition 7" is this sweet t-shirt. I love the look of this, I don't collect shirts at all but when I saw this I really wanted it! I love the design of this. The size of it is a bit odd, it's about a large (I usually wear a medium) a bit wide but the sleeves are pretty tight.

I love the shade of red on this (the photo doesn't do it justice).

And this is of course the back.

Anyways, I’ve never seen this shirt before so I tried to find some information on the net but couldn’t come up with anything. The shirt has no tags, which gives me even less to go on. If anyone has any info on this hit me up!

Here is an updated pic of my Brotherhood 7", again sorry about the delay between posts, but I have a whole heap planned so keep an eye out!
