Never Enough Brotherhood!

Ok so it has been a while between posts, unfortunately I just haven’t had a lot of free time recently, but I have been getting some sweet records, which I hopefully will be posting, so keep an eye out!

I am always looking for Brotherhood records for my collection. So I figured the best record to start with will be yet another Brotherhood record!

So here is another version of Brotherhood - No Tolerance For Ignorance with the Tattoo cover 7” however until recently I had no idea this version existed! This is like my other copy, in that the text is screened on the cover in blue. (There are other versions that have the text screened on a separate acetate sleeves in either blue, red or yellow which is still need). However unlike my other copy this one is on Blue vinyl. Now at first you might think that someone could have just switched the red with a blue, which could be the case. However all the copies I have seen with red vinyl and text screened in blue on the cover all did not have an insert.

This copy has a different insert; this seems to be the same insert that comes with the copies with an acetate sleeve. It's red and much smaller than the regular insert.

One thing about the tattoo covers is that they are larger than a normal 7” cover, which means that in normal storage they can be damaged easily, which unfortunately is the case with this cover.

Another cool bonus I picked up as part of my trade for the Closet Edition 7" is this sweet t-shirt. I love the look of this, I don't collect shirts at all but when I saw this I really wanted it! I love the design of this. The size of it is a bit odd, it's about a large (I usually wear a medium) a bit wide but the sleeves are pretty tight. 

I love the shade of red on this (the photo doesn't do it justice).

Anyways, I’ve never seen this shirt before so I tried to find some information on the net but couldn’t come up with anything. The shirt has no tags, which gives me even less to go on. If anyone has any info on this hit me up!

WIDE AWAKE

Some people are not into Wide Awake, well, some people like Creed and I put people who don’t like Wide Awake into this category. I love Wide Awake and if you can’t dig it, you might as well stop reading this now.

So here is where it all started, Wide Awake – Hold True Demo, such a sick looking demo. This copy has a really light redish-pink I have also seen these with Yellow and Blue covers (if anyone has these hit me up!!)

The cover folds out with lyrics on one side and some sweet pictures on the other.

Here is a ‘fan press’ (bootleg) of the demo, which uses the cover of the band's 7" (see below), these come with heaps of different covers and labels, and there is both a rejected and accepted test press of this. But I’m pretty happy with my one copy for now. (this version with the light blue cover seems to be the most common).

Here is the 7” Wide Awake – C.T. Hardcore pressed on Schism Records (SKIZ #4) 1^st press has the hand draw cover over the guitar player with the blue X.

First press came on both white and red labels. Second press had alternate cover with photo of Sammy on the drums, this came on red labels as well and also on grey labels. All presses have the same insert.

There is also a version for the first press that has a much lighter blue X, to quote from the bible “At the beginning of the printing for the sleeve, the blue in the 'X' was not dark enough so the sleeves were reprinted.” I actually have 3 copies of the first press (2 with red labels) and there are some very slight differences in the shades of the X. But there are actually copies out there where the blue look more like my copy of the demo bootleg.

Here is a copy of the band’s posthumous live 7”, The End. First of all this is a really boring looking record, could have been done heaps better. The actual recording isn’t that great either but it has some extra songs on there and despite all the negatives I can actually get into it.

MORE BROTHERHOOD

So if you have read this blog before you will know I collect Brotherhood records, well recently I managed to get my hands on a copy of a Brotherhood record I have been after for years! I was so stoked when it finally arrived in the mail. So here it is the latest edition to my Brotherhood collection, Brotherhood – No Tolerance for Ignorance “Found in my Closet Records” Edition.

So this version of the 7” has a different cover that looks like it was made out of a manila envelope (This photo is just a bit light). These are out of 40 and were made up with alternate covers and inserts from left over records found in one of the band member’s closet. Red vinyl, from the 2nd press.

These are hand numbered, my copy is 25/40.

As pictured above the insert for this version is a bit different to the regular press. The closet edition is on the left as you can see is much smaller and has a picture over the mail order info.  As well as obviously being numbered.

Also the back of the closet edition is blank. Pictured above is the back of the regular insert.

Screaming for GREEN!

Okay so a lot of people have been asking me the differences between the Uniform Choice - Screaming for Change original second press on clear green and the new re-press on clear green. So I decided to do a post showing all the differences.

First off the most noticeable difference is the colour. As shown here are 2 copies of the original 2^nd press and a copy of the new re-press. Obviously the repress is much lighter when compared. However if you don’t have an original to compare it with there are a few other ways. If you look at the dead wax, you can see on the re-press it is smaller than on the original 2^nd press.

Here you can also see the different shade of greens on the label. The re-press is much lighter.

Obviously the cover of the re-press is nice and new, but it is also a bit lighter than the 2^nd press. 

The back covers are again identical except for the slight difference in colour.

Here is the original insert. The re-press does not come with an insert.

However if say someone had placed the cover and added an insert from a 2^nd press on black there is one sure way to tell 100% what copy you have. The matrix is different. On the 2^nd press there is actual writing in the matrix.

No Tolerance

Okay so I have really been getting into No Tolerance recently and they seem to constantly be in my rotation of records that are playing, definitely one of my favourite current bands. For those of you who haven’t heard them do yourself a favour and go check them out now!

So here is where it all started No Tolerance – Boston Straight Edge Demo for Edge Day #3.  Sweet looking tape!

The demo was later pressed on vinyl by 540 Records.

No Tolerance Test Press, out of 12. As you can see on the back cover mine is 12/12. The Test Press has an alternate cover, same design used on the back of the t-shirts.

Here is the gold version mine is 39/88, took me ages to find a copy of this, ended up having to wait for one to eventually turn up on eBay. 

Here is the complete No Tolerance - Boston Straight Edge Demo family, as you can see was pressed on black, these are out of 500.

Here is the latest 7” No Tolerance – No Remorse, No Tolerance. This is the Youngblood Showcase pre-release apparently out of 85 with blank red labels and screened in silver. Really nice look, love it! Also there is also a gold version of this out of 187, which I just found out about! Need to find a copy of this. Also need a test press, not sure how many tests there are.
